These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and GrailVinyl LLC ("GrailVinyl", "we", "us") governing your use of the GrailVinyl iPhone application and related services (the "App"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from the App or its bundled data, except to the limited extent applicable law permits despite this restriction.

2. Grail Member subscriptions & in-app purchases

Plans. Grail Member is available as an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the App and on the App Store.
Free trial. Monthly and annual plans include a 14-day free trial for new subscribers. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the listed price.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically and are charged through your Apple ID at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Billing & refunds. All purchases are processed by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service. Payments, renewals, refunds, and price-change notices are handled by Apple; we do not process payments or store your payment details. Refund requests are made to Apple.
What it unlocks. Grail Member unlocks the bundled paid features (sibling pressings, original-pressing value estimates, runout/matrix identification, counterfeit warnings, audiophile data). No account or login is required; the unlock is tied to your Apple ID.

3. Information is provided "as is"

The App surfaces catalog data, pressing details, price estimates, and editorial notes compiled from public and third-party sources (including the Discogs database, the Cover Art Archive, MusicBrainz, and Last.fm). This information is provided for personal reference only, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and is not appraisal, investment, or grading advice. Pressing values are estimates, not guarantees of resale price. Always verify a record yourself before buying or selling.

4. Affiliate links

Some outbound "buy" and listening links (for example to eBay or streaming services) are affiliate links: if you make a purchase or sign up through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only show such links where we earn credit, and an affiliate relationship never changes the price you pay or how results are ranked.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the App: no automated scraping or bulk extraction of the bundled data, no attempts to circumvent purchase or rate-limit controls, and no use that violates the terms of the third-party services the App connects to (such as Discogs, eBay, or Last.fm) or any applicable law.

6. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrailVinyl LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the App's information or from any purchase or sale you make. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.

7. Apple App Store terms

This is an agreement between you and GrailVinyl LLC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. GrailVinyl LLC, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product-liability, legal-compliance, and intellectual-property claims. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government prohibited-parties list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms; we'll change the "Last updated" date above and note material changes in the App's release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
